Dr. Abram Collard
“Becoming a parent is life-altering. It has challenged and enriched my life in ways I could not have imagined. Similarly, my experience becoming a physician has been truly transformative.

During my clinical rotations as a medical student, I found myself gravitating towards children in the hospital needing care. Children, especially when sick, cannot take care of themselves. I wanted to be able to help them and I realized they needed someone who could understand them and their special medical needs.
Since 2015, I’ve been dedicated to providing the highest quality pediatric care in Eastern Idaho and always with a human touch. If you’re looking for personal attention from a doctor whose main priority is your health and well-being, you’ll be in good hands with me.”

Dr. Collard is a native of Eastern Idaho. He spent many hours fishing the South Fork as a youth, lettered in football, wrestling, and baseball at Idaho Falls High School, and completed his undergraduate degree at BYU-Idaho. He also served a mission in Arkansas for his church and served in the U.S. Air Force, prior to attending medical school.
He is thoroughly committed to providing the best pediatric care available.

What is the difference between a family doctor and a pediatrician?A family doctor can treat patients of all ages, but a pediatrician has expertise regarding infants, children, and adolescents. Babies, children, and teenagers all have unique health concerns that require specialized knowledge and care that a family doctor may not be able to provide. Expecting a new baby? Not sure where to start? Schedule a pre-natal consultation to have your questions and concerns addressed before the big day!
-
Can I switch my child to a pediatrician at any time? Most insurances allow you to switch providers at any time, but Medicaid only allows a patient to switch during open enrollment in January and February. Certain exceptions do apply, so don't hesitate to call with any questions. Our clinic is always taking new patients and will gladly help you make the transition.
-
When should my child see a pediatrician?A child shouldn't just be seen when they're sick. They should see a pediatrician as soon as they are born and at each of the well-child examinations recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Remember, teenagers need yearly visits just as much as the babies do!
-
Why does my child need vaccines?Vaccines help ward off serious, potentially fatal, diseases. Getting your child vaccinated will help protect them from these debilitating illnesses and the life-long problems they cause. Your child's pediatrician is the BEST resource for vaccine related information!
-
Do you work with children with special needs?Yes! A team-based coordination of care with their specialists, therapists, school teachers and parents will help them reach their fullest potential at each of life's milestones.
-
Do you perform circumcisions? As insurance companies typically don't cover this procedure, we offer circumcisions at a highly competitive rate. We strive to make it as worry-free as possible, both for baby and parents! Not sure if you should have your baby circumcised? No problem! We'll answer any questions you may have.
